Deep Freeze Baby Shower!

The group from the shower. Notice how Lacy is attempting to hold her arms JUST like her mommy? :)

On April 25th(I was 35 wks), a group of my friends threw me my Deep Freeze Baby shower. If you are not familiar with this theme, instead of the guests bringing material gifts they bring an entree for me to freeze. LOVE THAT! Especially as this will be another girl, we have a plethera of clothes, and still have all the needed gear, so why not get something that would really help! Seriously hard to get TO a store, shop, come home and unload/load house, cook, eat, THEN clean with a newborn. Well, hard for me anyway:) Now, I have a bunch of meals that I pull from my freezer and just pop in the over and throw away the mess(or recycle!:)L-R: Rochelle, Chris, Kelly, Maria
My friend Maria wanted to throw me my shower and then two of my other friends jumped in to help. I am still so grateful for all they did! My friend Chris hosted the shower at her house. She just had a bunch of new work done on their house. WHICH is fun to show everyone, but SO scary to host a PARTY, but she opened her beautiful home anyway. Thanks Chris! My friend Rochelle who was CRAZY busy with work somehow managed to take care of games and all the prizes. Seriously, she was so busy and the fact that she found time to make my shower special and fun says a lot. AND, she picked up my camera and took photos for me, since she knows I love my photos! And then Maria:) Right before the shower, she loaded up her two boys(1 and 4) and went ALL THE WAY TO PORTLAND to get special things for the shower!! She even got a bunch of Saint Cupcakes! Since she knows I love cupcakes. She also got a chocolate fountain...yes a chocolate fountain..yum and made a bunch of other stops. I feel so blessed to have such wonderful friends that would go to so much trouble to make this day special for me.

Saint Cupcakes!

There is that chocolate fountain! The chips were so good in chocolate!

Games!
We played a few games, a couple that I think are fun and classic games. The other...maybe I am a little crazy, but with that game the shower has NO chance of being dull:) We played the 'don't cross your leg' game. Of course Rochelle's mom won it as usual-seriously she's an animal at that game. Then we did 'How does she measure up?' where everyone tried to guess the circumference of my baby belly. Then....well...the diaper game...

Maria sporting her strategy for the measuring game.

Kelsey giving it her best shot as well.

It was crazy that there were two sets of ladies that cut EXACTLY the same size!

What did baby eat?!!

No, that is not REALLY a dirty diaper. SO? what is it? Or should I say what candy bar can it be? That's right, the object is to guess what baby 'ate', or in other words, what candy bar is it. You can do what ever you need to for your answer, but really smelling and looking is not enough. Tasting the treat in the diaper is the way to go. I KNOW..it's gross, but it makes for a lot of laughs and shrieks and I think that's great:) Except if you are Kelsey and just into her second trimester and literally had to back into the far corner to keep from getting sick! Poor thing! Oh, I think my favorite comment from this game came from my mom. She grabbed her first diaper, groaned and said, "ohhh....this is still warm." GROSS!! Enjoy all the photos, haha!Juli showing off one lovely diaper

Everyone working hard at their guesses

My turn..hmm, what IS that smell? Not sure...

Must sample to decide:)

I was so touched that a couple people even thought of Lacy! Maria was so sweet to bring a gift back all the way from Disneyland for lacy to open at the shower since she will be the great BIG SISTER! It was a Tinkerbell doll...and Lacy LOVES Tink. Then our neighbor Christie got Lacy a huge Hello Kitty coloring book and a massive box of crayons(which of course she loves) and even sat with her and colored with Lacy for the longest time.

It was a great shower, thanks to all for coming and making it so special! Won't be long now and baby Tofslie will be here!

Ha! I love the "what did the baby eat" game. I am going to have to remember that for the next time that I host a baby shower.
