Summer Portraits

Well, fall is right around the corner and I did not get all my summer portraits in, but we'll get there...I hope! Adjusting from completely a stay-at-home mom to juggling a hobby is something I am still tweaking, but I LOVE this. Here is a hand full from the summer sessions so far. And most of these, i think I was really quite crazy attempting to have a photo shoot while still a novice at my new camera. I definitely missed a lot fumbling around, but it forced me to learn...and quick! :) I had the opportunity to be a second shooter for a wedding for the first time a couple weekends ago with friends who are photographers. WOW. I have lots to learn, but man, I am sure enjoying the journey!

I have  lot scheduled in the next few weeks, should be interesting!

Kelly,
Wow! Really.......well done. Love the black and white infant pix especially. There is certainly more involved in taking pictures than the kind of "point and shoot" that I do. Because I enjoy taking pictures so much, I can understand your love for it as well. Keep going...keep learning...and "whatever you do, do it heartily as unto the Lord" (Col 3:23)

Hi Kelly ~ I am a friend of Shannon's and have been following your blog for quite some time now. It was on your site that I first read about trying to take pictures without a flash! That comment alone started my own photography journey and I love it too!! I just wanted to write and tell you that I've loved following your blog, and especially looking at your pictures. You've progressed soooo much and I'm very impressed. I love your portraits!! Take care ~ Amber

Thanks everyone! It sure it exciting and fun. I feel like I have been slow to progress, but I am learning on my own and well, have two little kids to take care of. I guess that's not too bad:)

Amber, thanks for the sweet note! I love the story! I will never forget that night when it 'clicked', so happy you are enjoying photography as well!! Maybe we can get together with Shannon sometime with all the kids when we are in town!

Ok Kel, your newborn photos made me hold back some tears. If I get to have another, I'm flying you up for the birth-no questions asked. Because I'm your cousin-ster and I said so.
